READING NOTEPRACTICE / PPC LEARNING

Show learning without inflating the claim

Make your contribution and the exercise’s limits easy to see.

01

Describe what you actually made

A learning record can include a question, an explanation, a fictional example and a reflection. State which parts you created and which resources informed them.

Do not label a personal exercise as client work or imply that a generated scene depicts an employer. The reader should not need to discover the fictional status in a footnote.

02

Keep outcomes in proportion

Time allocated, lessons completed and notes written are different from demonstrated workplace capability. They can describe your activity without guaranteeing expertise or employability.

If you discuss real work, use only information you are authorised to share and accurately represent your contribution. A learning publication cannot verify those permissions for you.

03

Show how you respond to uncertainty

Include a question you could not yet answer or a revision you made after feedback. This helps a reader understand how you review your own reasoning.

A concise honest example can be more informative than a polished claim with no support. Keep the source and the limitation close to the explanation.
