Ask for feedback someone can give

A focused request makes a discussion easier to use.

01

Choose a manageable question

A request to review everything can leave both people unsure where to begin. Identify the part of the explanation you want tested and explain what you have already tried.

Ask whether the reasoning follows, whether the definition is appropriate or what information is missing. These questions make space for useful disagreement.

02

Listen for the underlying concern

When feedback challenges your wording or conclusion, ask what assumption or evidence prompted the concern. The purpose is to understand the gap, not merely to replace one phrase with another.

Different people may contribute different expertise. Keep the role of each source clear and do not treat a casual comment as authorisation to change a live account.

03

Turn the discussion into a next step

Write down one revision or check that follows from the feedback. If advice conflicts, identify what further context would help resolve it.

Thank the person for the time and keep the request proportionate. A short, well-prepared question is often easier to revisit than a large unfinished exercise.
